God’s Recipe for a Fruitful Life          By Tina Tedder

Galatians 5:16

This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the just of the flesh.

·        Here is my advice, Live your whole life in the spirit and you will not satisfy the desires of your lower nature.

·        How can we do this when we are flesh?

Apostle Paul said in

          Romans 12: 2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.

Also,

          Colossians 1:10

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.

·        We are not to partake of the sin in this world.

·        We do not need to live according to the flesh.

·        Judge all your actions according to the Word of God,

then you’ll be living according to the Spirit of God.

·        Living according to the Spirit is simply having God’s character growing in your life.

·        Character is a person’s personality.

o       God’s personality or character is found in

Galatians 5:22-23

:22    But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,

         gentleness, goodness, faith,

:23   Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

·        A person’s character is their personality,

o       How they act

o       How they respond

·        God’s character is full of . . .

1.     Love

2.     Joy

3.     Peace

4.     Long-suffering    (Patience)

5.     Gentleness            (Kindness)

6.     Goodness             (Generosity)

7.     Faith                    (Loyalty)

8.     Meekness             (Tolerance)

9.     Temperance         (Self-control)

·         All of these are inward character

·         But when we live them they reveal outward gifts.

·         We find ourselves being them

o       Others see us doing them

·          Let’s picture our life as a garden

·       If we plant, we should reap what we plant or sow . . .

1.    We plant love we receive love

2.    We plant joy we receive joy

3.    We plant peace we receive peace

4.    We plant patience we receive patience

5.    We plant kindness we receive kindness

6.    We plant generosity we receive generosity

7.    We plant loyalty we receive loyalty

8.    We plant tolerance we receive tolerance

9.    We plant self-control we receive self-control

·         We all know if a garden is not taken care of, it gets weeds.

o       Weeds get into our spiritual garden

1.    When we allow thing of this world to get into our lives

2.    When things of this world become a distraction

3.    When the circumstances seem to get a hold on us

4.    We then need to take our spiritual plow and weed out the distractions

5.    We need to take the Word of God and apply some spiritual food to our garden

6.    When Satan sends things our way to distract us

·         We should pour our self into the Word of God

·         For what the Lord intends to be great in our lives, Satan tries to destroy

As 2 Peter 3:18 says;

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.   To him be glory both now and for ever Amen.

Let your garden grow abundantly in Jesus.
