Job Description - Director of Christian Education & Children’s Ministry

Evangel Mission:

Overview: The full-time Director of Children’s Ministry & Christian Education is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and direction for the adult and children’s Christian Education program including Sunday School, small groups, and the Sunday morning/Wednesday evening Children’s Ministry. Additionally this person is responsible for leading the seasonal Children’s Ministry events, such as VBS, Camps, Easter Outreach, Fall Family Picnic (Harvest Party), etc… This person is a leader of leaders, not just a doer. So they must have the ability to inspire, delegate, and build and maintain ministry teams. This position reports to the Executive Pastor.
 
Essential Job Functions:

1.  Kidventure Children’s Church
         • Actors (practice, props, curriculum coordination, and scheduling)
         • Worship (songs, kid dancers, worship leaders)
         • Coordinate Weekly Speaker
         • Coordinate volunteers
         • Maintain system for maintenance of technical equipment

2. Beginning Explorers Preschool
         • Oversee Coordinator
         • With Coordinator recruit leaders
         • Provide curriculum
         • Provide support and guidance

3. MPact Girls Oversight
         • Work with MPact Girls Coordinator to administrate the MPact Girls Ministry
         • Coordinate annual achievement ceremony

4. Royal Rangers Oversight
         • Work with Royal Rangers Commander to administrate the Royal Ranger’s             Ministry
         • Coordinate annual achievement ceremony

5. Nursery Oversight
         • Work with Nursery Coordinator to administrate the Nursery Ministry. Also ensure             Nursery is provided for special events and services.

6. Sunday School Oversight
         • Recruit, train, schedule teachers and rooms, and order curriculum for Children’s
         and Adult classes.
         • Work with teachers and staff to resolve philosophical, procedural, and scheduling problems.
         • Purchase snacks, juice, diapers & wipes.

7. Adult Small Group Oversight
         • Recruit and train leaders, help with curriculum needs, and schedule rooms for Life             Groups.
         • Working with the Lead Pastor, give leadership to the home groups.

8. Administrative
         • Build annual budgets for these areas.
         • Handle volunteer background screening: 1) ministry applications, 2) reference        checks, & 3) criminal investigations.
         • Attend and contribute to weekly staff and pastor meetings.
         • Maintain regular contact and communication with office staff, & department         heads. 
         • Advise the Executive Pastor and Lead Pastor of issues impacting Children’s and   Christian Education ministries.
         • Develop a system for reporting incidents, accidents, and allegations as quickly as   possible.
         • Administrate the parental check-in and checkout system for services.

9. Tentative Two-Service Plan
         • 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. - Children’s small groups using curriculum from North Point       Church: “252 Basics.”
         • 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Sunday School
         • 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. Kidventure Children’s Church

Requirements:
Five-to-ten years of full-time Christian Education and Children’s Ministry experience, and a bachelor’s degree in a Ministry-related field or in Education. A born-again, Spirit-filled believer, walking in progressive sanctification and obedience to God’s Word. A tithe-paying member of Evangel Assembly of God. Well-groomed, a self-starter who works well with people. Someone who is organized and committed to integrity, excellence, and innovation. If married, we expect the marriage to be in Biblical order, and that your spouse be supportive of your work in this place. It is expected that employees of Evangel and their dependant family members will attend regular and special church-wide services of the church. This person is a leader of leaders, not just a doer. While he or she must have the core competencies and be able to perform all of the ministry responsibilities, the only way Evangel will grow, is if this person also has the ability to inspire volunteers, to delegate, and to build and maintain ministry teams.

Job Description – Associate Pastor for Congregational Care

Helping people trade-in their bib for a towel. The result is that we are a life-giving congregation where people love God, love people, and love life – a congregation that is love with skin-on!

Overview: This is an Ephesians 4:11-12 pastoral position.

Specifically:
• Administrate the Evangel Care Pastor Network: http://evangelag.org/care/Care_Network/Care_Home.html

• Provide counseling to church members as needed.

• Provide and coordinate visitation to members in the hospitals and to shut-ins.

• Coordinate funerals and weddings, along with our Wedding Coordinator.

• Coordinate with “E-Women Helping Hands Ministries,” regarding food and hospitality needs when deaths, births, catastrophic illnesses occur.

• Lead an Adult Sunday School Class and/or a Life Group.

• Oversee the Prime-Timers monthly Fellowship Dinner (age 50 and up).

• Oversee the Altar Worker Ministry.

• Oversee the Sunday Morning Intercessory Group.

• Help Develop & Manage a “New Convert” follow-up plan.

• Preach as needed.

Requirements:
• Ephesians 4:11-12 indicates that pastors are leaders of leaders. The person serving in this position needs to possess basic pastoral competencies, along with the gift of equipping others to serve in ministry.

• Bible College Training/degree.

• 5-plus years of Pastoral experience.

• A people-person!

• Household and personal finances in order. Spouse and dependant children supportive and willing to attend church services.

Reporting: This position reports to the Lead/Senior Pastor.
