Worship Pastor at Evangel Assembly in Tallahasse
Job Description: Worship Pastor Vision: Our vision is summed up in three words: “Connect, Grow, & Serve” Connect with God and Others in Worship Grow In Christ by joining a group Serve the Church and the World & be love with skin-on Overview: The person filling this position has responsibility for and oversight of the entire music, worship, and Fine Arts ministries of the church. This person facilitates leading the congregation in worship; and pastors and oversees the Worship Teams; Band; Technical Team (sound, lighting & graphics); Worship Choir; and Intercession Team. This person is also the staff liaison to our Television Production Team.   The Worship Pastor administrates “Planning Center” for scheduling and communicating, and maintains the database as new people are added or step down from the ministry. Uploads weekly countdown video, and sends lyrics to Tech Team for projection computer. This person also needs the technical skill to work with “Easy Worship,” and “Garage Band.” Garage Band is used to make vocal parts available to singers and choir.   Our Goals for worship are simple: 1. That Jesus Christ is worshipped at Evangel 2. The congregation participates in that worship. Our Worship Genre’ reflects Hillsong, Bethel, Gateway etc.   Responsibilities: • Pray for, support, and be an extension of the vision and values of the Senior Pastor. • Administrate, oversee, and facilitate leading the congregation in worship and all that it entails: song/music selection and convening and leading practice times for singers and band. • Develop and schedule “special music,” for use during offerings and special occasions. • Recruit candidates, hold auditions for, select, direct, and schedule the worship team(s) who will model worship and help lead the congregational singing. • Train all persons in the choir and band to model worship for the congregation.   • Recruit choir members, and direct the choir who help model worship for the congregation. • Recruit, hold auditions, and lead the band. • Organize and prepare music which facilitates worship during altar calls and personal ministry times. • Keep current with new materials, songs, composition, dramas, and technology. • Provide pastoral leadership for the Technical Team: audio; video; graphics; & lighting. • Along with the Sound Technicians, exercise sensitivity to the people in the audience as to the overall sound level of the praise and worship segment of the service. • Help facilitate dramas put on by Children’s Church, the Youth Ministry, and other groups in the church. • Manage the platform area. • Be available to help with weddings and funerals as needed. • Develop an annual budget for this area. • Develop and oversee prayer and intercession ministry. • Oversee the duplication/labeling/marketing of sermon CD’s • Using Planning Center, develop a one-page “Service Schedule,” and in addition to singers and band, provide hard copies for Sound Technician, Graphic Display Operator, Television Director, and Pastors. This includes: Order Of Service, song selections, congregational prayer, announcements, offertory, etc.) This is reviewed with the Pastors before each service. • Additional duties as determined by the Senior Pastor.   Other Responsibilities • Work alongside other Evangel staff in planning, conducting, and evaluating ministry.   Requirements: A born-again, Spirit-filled believer, walking in progressive sanctification and obedience to God’s Word. A tithe-paying member of Evangel. Well-groomed, a self-starter who works well with people. Someone who is organized and committed to integrity, excellence, and innovation. If married, we expect the marriage to be in Biblical order, and that your spouse be supportive of your work in this place. It is expected that employees of Evangel and their dependent family members will attend regular and special church-wide services of the church. This person is a leader of leaders, not just a doer. While he or she must have the core competencies and be able to perform all of the ministry responsibilities, the only way Evangel will see more people saved and discipled, is if this person also has the ability to inspire volunteers, to delegate, and to build and maintain ministry teams.   Spiritual / Professional: • Maintain a positive attitude and vision for yourself, the church, staff, board, and Senior Pastor. • Develop a godly attitude and witness at all times. • Work cooperatively and cheerfully with the members of the administrative and pastoral team. • Work diligently. Your ministry requires four full days of service, in addition to Sundays and other service and meeting times. • Arrive at church at least an hour before service begins, and plan to leave as the final saints depart. When possible, after services stand in the foyer to meet new guests and connect with the congregation. • Abide in Christ (John 15:4). Overview: The full-time Children’s Pastor is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and direction for:

Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Children’s Ministry which includes: Nursery, Sunday School, Pre-School Children’s Church, “Kidventure” Children’s Church, Mpact Girls, and Royal Rangers. This includes identifying and purchasing curriculum and training and equipping Children’s Team(s). Additionally, this person is responsible for leading the seasonal Children’s Ministry Outreach events. It is helpful if this person is able to work with various forms of media such as graphic design, video editing, and audio. This person is a leader of leaders, not just a doer. So they must have the ability to inspire, delegate, and build and maintain ministry teams. This position reports to the Senior Pastor.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Kidventure Children’s Church
    • Actors (practice, props, and scheduling)
    • Worship (songs, kid dancers, worship leaders)

    • Work with Nursery Coordinator to administrate the Nursery Ministry. Ensure Nursery is provided for special events and services.
    • Purchase snacks, juice, diapers & wipes.
  1. Children’s Sunday Morning Life Groups
    • Recruit, train, schedule teachers and rooms, and order curriculum for Children’s classes.
    • Work with teachers and staff to resolve philosophical, procedural, and scheduling problems.
  1. Outreach
    • Lead the seasonal children’s ministries outreach events.

      • VBS (Mega Sports Camp)

  1. Family Life Small Groups
    • Recruit and train group leaders to lead family oriented semester-based groups during our spring, summer and fall group semesters.
    • Identify, develop, and/or select family oriented group curriculum study materials. Groups can include but are not limited to topics such as Parenting, Marriage, Single Parenting, Special Needs Children, Mommy & Me etc.
  1. Serve/Volunteers
    • Handle volunteer background screening: 1) ministry applications, 2) reference checks, & 3) criminal investigations.
    • Work with the Connections Pastor to implement Serve For A Day, which helps to ensure individuals become involved in ministry following their participation in “DiscoverU.”
  1. Administrative
    • Build annual budgets for these areas.
    • Attend and contribute to weekly staff and pastor meetings.
    • Maintain regular contact and communication with office staff, & department heads
    • Advise the Operations Pastor and Senior Pastor of issues impacting Children’s ministries.
    • Develop a system for reporting incidents, accidents, and allegations as quickly as possible.
    • Administrate the check-in and checkout system for Church Services.
    • Organize and conduct meetings for all volunteers: monthly for Kidventure Church and Bi- monthly for Family Life Lead Team.

Additional Responsibilities:

    • Act as the staff liaison for the men’s ministry.
      • Oversee and develop the existing men’s ministry in keeping with church purpose

and direction

      • Recruit and Train group leaders to lead men’s small groups during our spring, summer and fall group semesters. This helps to get men together in situations where they can relate to other men and provide an opportunity to talk and pray about their lives, their families, their struggles, their victories, and to hold one another accountable.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Three to Five years full-time Children’s Ministry experience, and a bachelor’s degree in a

Ministry-related field or in Education. A born-again, Spirit-filled believer, walking in progressive sanctification and obedience to God’s Word. Be a tithe- paying member of Evangel. Valparaiso First A/G Youth/Worship Pastor

First Assembly of God in Valparaiso, FL is currently seeking a full-time Youth Pastor. The ability to also be used in worship is a plus, but not required.

Requirements:

 

  1.  Possess a genuine call to full-time ministry working with students.  The ability to lead worship, with or without an instrument, is a plus.
  2. Either possess or be acquiring credentials with the Assemblies of God.
  3. Prior experience is a plus, but all applicants will be prayerfully considered.
  4. The individual should be a team player, creative, a life-long learner, humble, respect instruction given, be loyal to those in authority over him, faithful with what is entrusted to his supervision, and most importantly, possess evidence of a vibrant faith and love for our LORD.

 

Purpose:

 

The Youth/Worship Pastor will help the Lead Pastor in performing the duties of Pastoring and leading the church within its mission.  This may include visitation, supervision of the office, preaching on Sunday mornings, and availability to collaborate with the Lead Pastor for the effective ministry in regards to outreach, daily operations, and message themes and illustration development.

 

Specific responsibility for this position would include but is not limited to:

 

  1.  Developing a student ministry which sincerely worships God
  2. Bringing students together in a loving, caring, accepting and trusting community of believers where both spiritual and social needs are met as students commit themselves to God and one another.
  3. To possess a ministry where the study of God’s Word is a high priority with the understanding that teaching God’s Word, not opinions, will change and mature lives.
  4. To train students for use within the group and for a lifetime of service to the LORD.
  5. To motivate students to be deeply concerned for the unsaved and desire to share Christ.
  6. Develop a worship culture within the church as a worship leader.
  7. Integrate ministry towards students involved in our after-school program through our Noah’s Ark Daycare.

 

The church is offering a full-time salary with a parsonage which is currently being remodeled and updated.

 

The church also has a daycare and a prospective youth/worship pastor would be able to enroll young children (birth-4 years old) for free.  This depends on current enrollment at the time of employment, but priority would be given to new openings for the youth/worship pastor’s family as made available.

  • Coordinate funerals and weddings, along with our Wedding Coordinator.

 

  • Coordinate with “E-Women Helping Hands Ministries,” regarding food and hospitality needs when deaths occur.

 

  • Have ability to Lead an Adult Sunday School Class or Small Group.

 

  • Serve as pastoral contact for the Prime-Timers monthly Fellowship Dinner (age 50 and up).

 

  • Oversee the Altar Worker Ministry.

Requirements:

  • Ephesians 4:11-12 indicates that pastors are leaders of leaders. The person serving in this position needs to possess basic pastoral competencies, along with the gift of equipping others to serve in ministry.
